  1. Parts ordered from Tayda Electronics arrived.

I ordered several parts from Tayda Electronics and they all arrived on time and before the expected delivery day (7-14 days), it arrived 5 days after I ordered it online and it shipped the next day from Thailand I believe. I tested every part and it worked just fine and I must say that I am really impressed by this website and I would highly recommend it if you are planning to buy parts for the Arduino tutorials or just parts in general. The shipping was extremely cheap: $1. The parts were also cheap as well; I bought 6 binding posts which were .25 cents each! when I checked local electronic stores or online, it was like $3.00 for only two! I will be using these binding posts to build a work bench from an ATX power supply using a tutorial from here. Here is a list of what I ordered and the parts:

  1. 10K OHM Logarithmic Taper Potentiometer – $0.50
  2. LED Display 7 Segment 4 Digit 0.56 inch Common Anode Best Green – $1.79
  3. Black Binding Post – $0.25
  4. Red Binding Post x 4 – $1.00
  5. L293 L293D Push-Pull 4-Channel Driver IC – $1.25
  6. 74HC595 8 bit Shift Register IC – $0.20

Grand total: $6.525; The only thing I regret is not buying more parts that I needed like the RGB LED and some light sensors but I’ll order those in the future along with a temperature sensor for future projects. The first thing I did was to solder wires to the 10k potentiometer because I wanted to quickly use it for my previous project with a LCD display to control the contrast of the display:

I also decided that after I document my LED/Button projects for the Arduino, I will work on my ATX power supply project and then make a Radio.
